Growing power gets international award

Swedfund won the prestigious award in the category of small and medium-sized funds when Responsible Investor awarded the best accounting on Tuesday. Spoon has produced Growing power – Swedfund’s integrated accounting 2013.

“It is particularly gratifying when Swedfund also receives international recognition for our work and our reporting,” said Anna Ryott, CEO of Swedfund.

Swedfund, a state-owned development financier, has as its main focus to create sustainable and profitable investments together with partners. Reporting on sustainability is therefore central to demonstrate the many positive and long-term effects of the operations.

Swedfund has previously received an honourable mention in the competition for the Best Sustainability Report 2013 from FAR, the professional body of accountants, auditors and consultants.

“We want to go forward and show how to integrate sustainability and social responsibility within our accounting. We hope that more companies like ourselves in Sweden and around the world see the value of applying IIRCs accounting framework,” said Lars-Olle Larsson, Senior Manager ESG Affairs at Swedfund and Ambassador of the IIRC in Sweden.

Responsible Investors Reporting Awards review more than 1,000 reports and funds in order to choose the winners. An international expert jury nominates the best and on Tuesday the winners were presented at a ceremony in London where Sweden’s Finance Minister Per Bolund was the main speaker.
